It Speaks For Itself

I found myself with a predicament tonight.
I felt like blogging about everything that God has been teaching me lately, but I just don't really feel like I know how to properly express it.
That is so annoying- when my words fail like that.
Sometimes they are just not enough.
Not descriptive enough.
Not powerful enough.
Not meaningful enough.
Not passionate enough.
But you know what?
God's words are always exactly what they are meant to be. I don't know how He did it... but His words are always exactly right.
I love that! I love that God wrote a book (by guiding the pens and minds and hearts of his chosen authors), and there is not one single flaw, or miscommunicated thought in it. The only problem is that it is read by a flawed audience, who sometimes (often! ...in my case, anyways) fail to realize the grandeur- the true meaning- of what God has chosen to communicate to us through the use of our simple, everyday language, or misunderstand it.
And since God is the only perfect author, I thought that instead of my words tonight, we could read some of His.
Because really, His are infinitely more meaningful than mine. He can say more in four words than I can in 120 000. (Think "Let there be light" vs. the book I am trying to write. Yeah... I think we know who comes out on top here.).

WORDS FROM GOD'S BOOK:
-"Are God's consolations not enough for you, words spoken gently to you? Why has your heart carried you away?" Job 15:11 Don't you love the thought of something being so absolutely, definitely true that even when it feels like the chaos of one thousand different emotions is tearing your heart apart, you can still know what is true? It doesn't matter if it feels like it is true. What matters is that you remember that it is true. Because guess what? God is truth. And what He says is true. Always.
(Yeah, I wasn't going to add anything of my own, but I just couldn't resist with that one. Because I love it, and I want everyone else to love it also. This is actually going to be an on-going issue for me tonight. I can tell.) (....But I really will shut up now.)
-"Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. But for me, it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works." Psalm 73:23-26, 28
-"This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says 'In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength'." Isaiah 30:15
-"Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking inside you. Have nothing to do with impurity. Don't be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father." -Random phrases from Colossians 3
-"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul." Psalm 143:8
-Psalm 20. Read it. "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright." See? Now you have to, because you have been given just a tiny idea of the beautiful things that Psalm 20 says. Triumphant. That is the word I would use to describe it.
